Diede de Groot has completed the ‘calendar slam’, winning the title at all grand slam tournaments in one calendar year. The number one in the world was too strong for the Japanese Yui Kamiji in the final of the US Open: 3-6 6-1 6-1.  Earlier this year, De Groot already won the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
